Poetry

Love is a run in the park on a warm summer day

A good thought is the warm sunshine on your face

A smile is the breeze blowing through your hair

A hug is the tingly in your toes

A kiss is the ice cream cone you eat when you are finished

FINAL DRAFT:

Haiku

A small pond sits still

Into it a stone is thrown

The water ripples

Tanka

In the tall oak tree

Sits a girl in a pink dress

She falls to the ground

Scraped knee and tear in eye

She stands to climb once again

Bio Poem

********

Zesty, Passionate, Loving

Daughter of Sharry

Who loves the cream inside and Oreo, rainy Sundays in bed, and overly cheesy old musicals

Who enjoys a long run on a cold morning, stresses about the future, and can’t get enough of the Beach Boys

Who fears never seeing somewhere over the rainbow, snakes and all other reptiles, and all horror movies

Who has discovered that she has too much left to see

Who hopes to change the world, have a house with a white picket fence, and see happily ever after

ROUGH DRAFT:

 Limerick

Joshua traveled the globe

From Paris, to Rome, to Chattamalobe

He stumbled upon giants one day

And with the giants he would stay

Now he is the size of his wives earlobe

Haiku

A small pond sits still

Into it a stone is thrown

The water ripples

Tanka

In the tall oak tree

Sits a girl in a pink dress

She falls to the ground

Scraped knee and tear in eye

She stands to climb once again

  1. I really liked tanka. It was my favorite. You begin to think it just a a story about a girl who falls out of a tree but the last line sent a new wave a meaning into it that the reader doesn’t expect. Really Good.
