Poetry

FINAL DRAFT:

Metaphor Poem

Music is power that makes you to move

It’s the invisible drive that never ceases to exist

The voices are the people that calm your mind

The repeating rhythm is the beat of your heart.

Limerick

There once was a pug named Frank

He loved to walk around the bank

With a running start he flew like a dark

And into my arms he sank

Haiku

I read from the book

The pages turned in my hand

I soon was finished

Tanka

Glory is fading

The sun may never rise up

Clouds form into storms

The air is piercing the trees

How will they find a safe place

ROUGH DRAFT:

Limerick

Frank the Pug

There once was a pug named Frank

He loved to walk down to the bank

With a quick running start

He flew like a dart

And into my arms he sank

Bio Poem

Erin

Tall, hard worker, creative

Daugher of Steve and Colleen

Who loves art, animals, and love

Who has felt loved, hatred, and confusion

Who fears the doctor, the tiger in the closet, and getting a C

Who has made a hundred percent on an english A.P. test

Who wants to see the hungry fed

Who unfortunatly lives in ********

******

Haiku

Always near my hand

Full of love and happiness

Diet Coke is god

Tanka

Glory is fading

The sun may never rise up

Clouds form into storms

The air is piercing the threes

How will they find a safe place

  1. I really like the Tanka and The Haiku. They were simple and yet they were full of detail. My only suggestion would be to maybe add a couple more accomplishments and things that you want to see happen in the biopoem, but very good job.

  2. i like these poems, especially the tonka, the haiku is short and too the point, it’d be cool to try and make it longer into another tonka, other than that nice work!

  3. I really liked your limerick story, it had a good mood and fun rhythm. What i really enjoyed about your poems is the difference in tones. How the first is happy and funny and then they get more serious. Good writing.

  4. I thought all your poems were well written. I really liked your tanka. I thought that your haiku was a little weird and I really didn’t get your main topic.
